The funny side of fashion

Back in 1994, Jerry Seinfeld published a very amusing book entitled 'SeinLanguage' where he made distinct observations about life. His book brought us his hilarious perspectives from Raisinettes to relationships, from childhood to cop shows and parents to powers suits. One joke that featured in both the book and his stand-up shows is about future fashion. Jerry starts by telling us that he hates clothes, how he hates buying them, picking them out from his closet, and the painful ritual of attempting to find outfits for himself every day. According to Jerry, in the future, fashion will not exist. He points out that whenever he watches a movie or TV show about the future the characters, whether human or extra-terrestrial are all wearing the same thing. “Somehow they decided this is going to be our outfit” Jerry explains. “One-piece silver jumpsuit, v stripe and boots, that’s it” he adds. According to Jerry this is a great idea and “We should all vote for an outfit for Earth.” He coins the phrase 'Earth Outfit'. He goes on to say that “Candidates propose different outfits, no speeches. They walk on, twirl and walk off, and we could all sit in the audience, clap and say that’s nice; I could wear that.” In another joke Jerry talks about Star Trek and the infamous jumpsuit uniforms worn by the entire crew. He suggests in the future when encountering alien life, that if we all wear the same uniform it will give a favourable impression to the aliens that we are a team. These are hilarious jokes, but there is a serious side to Jerry’s logic which brings us back to fashion, work uniforms and first impressions.

What does your uniform say about you?

All jokes aside, today’s modern health professional is fully aware that their work apparel, usually consisting of scrub top and scrub pants must give a good first impression that’s says I work in a team, I’m a professional, I feel comfortable and I look modern and stylish. This is a lot to convey at a glance, but it is exactly what you will be saying when you own a set of scrubs or a uniform by Mediscrubs. Uniforms and Apparel Uniforms are a great team-building resource for your staff, and they can improve overall customer service as well as brand awareness. Company uniforms make it easy for buyers to locate employees in a crowd, cutting down on response time. Uniforms also benefit client satisfaction by extending awareness of your company both during and outside of work hours.
