Red Nose Day is Friday, 13 August 2021

The first Red Nose Day was held in 1988 urging Australians to “be silly for a serious cause” and is a major fundraising and awareness campaign for Red Nose. It has become a beloved day for Australians to get silly and fundraise to help save little lives and support families. Red Nose was founded in 1977 by bereaved parents who wanted to make sure the devastating impact of the death of their child never happened to anyone else. Their aim was to find out why babies die suddenly and unexpectedly, and educating parents and health professionals about how to prevent it. Their fundraising efforts helped create one of Australia’s most successful public health programs “back to sleep” which has so far resulted in an 85 percent reduction of SIDS in Australia.

Since Red Nose merged with Sands Australia in 2020, Red Nose is dedicated to saving little lives through research and education. They also support families impacted by the death of a baby or child during pregnancy, birth, infancy, and early childhood. We at Mediscrubs support this wonderful cause and encourage all to go and donate or buy a nose! By supporting Red Nose Day, you can help fund vital research into stillbirth, SIDS, and safe sleeping practices.

Join us and thousands of people from all across Australia as we get silly for a serious cause. Every dollar raised on Red Nose Day helps stop little lives from being cut short and ensures every grief-stricken family gets the support they need.
