To Whom it may concern,

In October 2018 I traveled to Central Kalimantan, Indonesia with a group from 'The Orangutan Project' to find out first hand about the dire situation faced by Orangutans and other forest dwellers. The forests are being consumed by a world hungry for cheap resources, and young Orangutans, taken after their mothers are killed, are subjected to the horrors of the illegal and exotic animal trade. The reduction in habitat is extreme and predictions for the future, unless significant changes are made, are grim. During the trip, we met with vets from Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) who are on the front lines of Orangutan rescue, rehabilitation and release, and forest protection and restoration. I returned to Australia determined to assist the great work of BOSF in whatever way I could. As an Emergency Department nurse, I am aware of Mediscrubs (and have a few sets of their scrubs) so they were one of the companies I contacted, as well as several medical supply companies, to ask for help. Mediscrubs replied to my email almost immediately and asked that I phone them to discuss the situation, and how they might contribute. Of the companies, I contacted they were the only ones to reply to me. Through conversations with their PR representative Janine, I was able to share what I had learned about the plight of Orangutans and, without hesitation, Mediscrubs offered to supply the BOSF vets and carers with sets of scrubs. The team at BOSF operates of the proverbial 'smell of an oily rag' with support from organisations like The Orangutan Project. They have been so grateful for the donations of scrubs (over 40 sets of scrubs so far) and took the time to send Mediscrubs a thank you photo and video from the field. Mediscrubs in turn were able to post a few blogs on their website, sharing information about BOSF and the plight of Orangutans and their rain forest home. It's been a wonderful collaboration that Mediscrubs should be very proud of and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I am happy to be contacted by either email or phone if you require clarification of any details. I have also included the BOSF website for your information. Yours Faithfully Karen Wootton
