Life Lessons are Necessary

So much of life is wasted on worry, regret, pain, and heartache. Of course, some of this is inevitable and necessary. But many of us spent too many of our younger days sweating over little things instead of being focused on what should be important in life. We simply didn't know better. Or if we did, it just hadn't sunk in yet. As the old saying goes 'Youth is wasted on the young.' We suppose “life lessons” are called that for a reason. You need to experience life in order to learn the lessons. And the more life you experience, the more lessons you accumulate. However, some extremely valuable lessons learned from life are from other people. Some are from external influences, whilst other life lessons learned were passed on from friends and family. Although some lessons must be learned through experience, you don't have to wait until you're old to become aware of what's truly meaningful and worthwhile.

Learning from our Experiences

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or help you figure out who you are or who you want to become. The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help you to create who you are and who you will become. Even the bad experiences are learned from, and in fact, they are the most poignant ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things that you would normally shut out.

Stop thinking and do something, and you will create momentum that leads to something valuable

Make everyday count. Appreciate every moment and take from these everything you could possibly can, for you will never be able to experience that moment again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before and actually listen... Let yourself fall in love again, break free, and set your sights high. If you live to age ninety, how many days do you have left? It is a finite number, and one day you will reach that last day. Remain conscious of the value of every single day. Ask yourself every morning, “What can I do to make today count?”
